MADISON, N.J. (January 29, 2011) - For the second consecutive night the Rangers came from behind in the closing minutes, this time to beat Scranton 90-82 in Baldwin Gymnasium. Asmar Capers (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) registered his first career double-double scoring a game-high 30 points and totaling 10 rebounds.

Drew (11-9, 6-3 Landmark) trailed for the majority of the second half but would once again stage a comeback to defeat Scranton (14-4, 7-2 Landmark) for the first time since the 2007-08 season. Trailing by 10 after an Andrew Wynne three pointer at the 12:06 mark, the Rangers put together a 10-1 run over the next three minutes of play to get themselves back in the ball game.

Scranton would sustain the lead until the 4:17 mark when Kyle Joyce (Hanover, Mass./Xavieran Brothers) drilled a deep three-pointer to put the Rangers up two. The Royals would respond with a Matt Swaback layup just a few seconds later and recapture a two point lead with a little under three minutes to play.

With the momentum shifting Drew's way, it just needed one big play to spark a rowdy crowd and help close out the Royals. Capers would deliver that big, play twice. With 1:31 remaining in the game and trailing by two, Capers drove to the lane made the basket and got fouled in the act. He converted the free throw to put the Rangers up one.

Scranton's Zach Ashworth would go 1-for-2 from the line on the next possession leaving the game tied at 80. The two teams would exchange baskets with under a minute to go making the score 82-82. Capers would then go on to hit the biggest shot of the game, a three-pointer from the corner to put the Ranger faithful in a frenzy.

After a missed three pointer on the Royal end, Scranton was forced to foul. and Terrell Brown (Camden, N.J/Woodrow Wilson) and Mike Mayes (Camden, N.J./St. Mary's) would go 7-for-8 down the stretch from the free throw line to help seal the sixth-straight Landmark Conference win.

Four players were in double figures for the men, including Mayes who exploded for 17 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Brown put forth another solid effort chipping in 11 to go along with four rebounds.

The Rangers will look to keep the streak alive as they are back in action next weekend against Juniata on Friday and Susquehanna Saturday afternoon.
