JACKSON, Miss. - There wasn't much offense on the day, but the Majors produced enough to get the season split with Rhodes, 52-40.

The Majors (8-9, 3-6 SCAC) held the Lynx to just five points over the final 11 minutes of the secnond half to secure the win and snap their losing streak at three. The Lynx (4-13, 0-9 SCAC) managed just one field goal over the 23-5 Major run when Andrew Galow hit a three pointer with 42 seconds remaining.

The two teams' offenses sputtered for much of the game, especially from three. The Lynx hit just 1-of-9 in the first half and 2-of-11 in the second to finish the day at 15-percent from long range. The Majors hit 4-of-13 in the first and 2-of-9 in the second for 27-percent. That's 33 missed three pointers between the two squads.

Fortunately for Millsaps they came on strong with the game on the line. The Majors were down 29-35 with 11:19 left to play when Jayson Montgomery started the game-winning run with a layup to cut the Lynx lead to four. Tully Gilligan tied the game at 35 two plays later before Nick Cortese burried a jumper with 8:52 remaining that put the Majors up for good, 37-35.

Taylor Meades led all scorers with 19 points. Rhodes' Andrew Galow scored twice at the line and added the last-minute three to give the Lynx thier only five points of the stretch. He finished with 18 on the day.

The Majors will return to the road this weekend as they travel over to Atlanta on Friday to take on the Oglethorpe Petrels in an 8:00 p.m. matchup.
