The Millikin men's basketball team lost to Carthage College 64-49 on Jan. 22 in the Griswold Center.
Millikin managed to stay close, but the Big Blue could never catch the Red Men who lead the entire game. The game was a rugged CCIW defensive struggle with Carthage connecting on 39 percent of its shots while Millikin hit only 33 percent of its attempts. Carthage had a 40-32 rebounding advantage.
Kyle Taylor was Millikin's top scorer with 16 points. Rodney Clark had six rebounds to top the Big Blue.
CCIW leading scorer Steve Djurickovic was too much for Millikin scoring 21 points, grabbing seven rebounds and dishing out six assists. Tyler Pierce had 16 points for Carthage.
Millikin falls to 1-15 while Carthage goes to 10-7, 3-3.
The Big Blue will travel to Wheaton on Jan. 26.
