The Oswego State men's basketball shot a blazing 53.8 percent from the field in the second half to turn a ten-point halftime lead into a 93-76 victory over host Geneseo on Friday night.  Five Lakers reached double-digits with Chad Burridge leading the way with 15 points.  Oswego State, which improved to 10-3 overall and 6-1 in the conference, will face Brockport on Saturday at 4 p.m. for a battle at the top of the SUNYAC standings.  The Blue Knights fell to 7-7 overall and 1-6 in the league.

The Lakers set the tone early as they opened the contest with a 15-2 run in the first five minutes behind the defense forcing Geneseo to commit nine turnovers.  The Blue Knights made a charge midway through the half, scoring eight straight points, to make the score, 24-18, in favor of Oswego State.  Sean Michele converted an offensive rebound as time expired to send the Lakers into halftime with a ten-point, 41-31 lead.  Michele ended the half with his game total nine points.

Oswego State saw its advantage swell to 17 points early in the second half as Brenden Nollet, Ryan Sheridan, and Jose Uribe contributed to an 8-0 run with almost 17 minutes remaining on the scoreboard.  Geneseo made one final charge to close the gap to 63-52 with 10:09 left to play, but the Lakers orchestrated another 9-0 run capped off by a three-point play by Conor Monaghan to push the lead to 20 at 74-54 with less than seven minutes on the clock.  From that point forward, Oswego State never saw its lead under 14 points.

In addition to Burridge's 15 points, Hayden Ward and Uribe tallied 13 points each followed by 12 points from Monaghan and 10 points from Sheridan.  The Lakers also shot well from the charity stripe at 82.4 percent on 28-of-34 shooting.  Oswego State finished the game shooting 48.4 percent (30-of-62), but went 5-of-20 from behind the arc.  The Blue Knights went 26-of-56 from the field (46.4 percent) and 4-of-9 from long range.
