Junior Gerald Williams (Rochester, NY/Charlotte) scored a career-high 25 points in the win, and credited the team's intensity in the second half to their game preparation earlier on in the week.
"It just rolls over, a great week of practice, meant that our intensity was high," said Williams, whose previous career high was 21 Tuesday night against New Paltz.
"Our defense mechanisms were through the roof, we kept going hard all week and it just came over to today's game and everything felt good."
Williams also shot 8-10 from the free-throw line and had two steals.
Freshman Jon Ivy (Rochester, NY/East) provided the closing touch for the Golden Eagles, hitting four of six free throws in the final 2:30 to seal the win. Ivy finished the game with 11 points, the third straight game he's scored in double-figures.

For Williams, the win was another chapter in the rapidly improving story for the Golden Eagles, who are off to a 5-2 start in 2011.
"We knew we were going to struggle in the beginning of the year because we had a lot of new faces, a lot of freshman," Williams said, "But our chemistry has started to improve, which we knew would happen at this time in the season.
