DOYLESTOWN (PA) – For the second time in the last four games, all five Delaware Valley College starters reached double figures in scoring and it led to another victory, this one a 77-69 non-conference triumph over visiting Hood College.

The win was the second straight for the Aggies as they improved to 8-6 overall. The Blazers saw their mark fall to 8-7.

Nine days ago, the entire Delaware Valley starting unit hit double digits in the scorebook in the team's 77-69 win over Freedom Conference foe Misericordia University. Monday night was a carbon copy both on the scoreboard and in the scorebook. The starting five combined for 75 of the 77 points and took all but one of the team's shots. The Aggies shot 49 percent from the field, including a 13-for-24 effort (54.2%) in the second half.

Down 15-13 near the midway point of the first stanza, Delaware Valley scored 11 straight, including six by Jeremy Beckett, for an eight-point lead. The Aggies upped the advantage to 29-18, with 4:29 to go in the half, but Hood came back and netted the final 11 points - four by Tyler Snotts - to tie the contest.

The game was still tied five minutes into the second half when a Jason Goldheimer 3-pointer and a Chris Ellis jumper in the paint gave Delaware Valley the lead for good. The Blazers did use a 6-0 run to pull to within one, 57-56, with 5:49 to go, but Ellis responded with back-to-back layups and two free throws for a seven-point advantage.

The Aggies bumped the lead back up to 11 with 1:43 remaining, but Hood chipped away and made it a four-point contest with 29 seconds to go. Nathan Bollinger was fouled on the inbounds pass and the Delaware Valley freshman sank both free throws to make it 75-69. The Blazers turned the ball over on their next possession and Goldheimer hit two foul shots with 14 second left for the 77-69 final.

Leading scorer James Jones (18.3 avg) was held scoreless in the first half for the second game in a row, this time because of foul trouble that limited him to just eight minutes. Just like Saturday's game where he scored 24 points in the second stanza, Jones played the full 20 on Monday and finished with 20 points. He was a perfect 10-for-10 from the foul line and also dished out six assists.

Ellis notched a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds while Beckett added 15 points, nine boards and a trio of blocks. Goldheimer hit four from long range and finished with 14 points while Bollinger added 11 points in the win.

Snotts paced Hood with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Herb Bowen recorded 11 points and nine boards while Brenden Straughn scored nine points and handed out eight assists.
