(Altoona, PA) – The front-court for Medaille gave a huge effort, outscoring Penn State-Altoona (56-38) in the paint, and the Mavericks rode that all the way to an (89-73) victory over the Lions of Penn State-Altoona.
Medaille would give up the first bucket of the game; however, they would take a (4-2) lead just two minutes into the first half and wouldn't look back, as they would lead throughout tonight's crucial AMCC match-up.
Senior forward Joe Mogavero (Kenmore, NY/Kenmore West) had a monster game inside for the Mavs, compiling a game-high (23) points, (9) rebounds and (3) steals. Fellow senior forward Ron Malicki (Machias, NY/Pioneer) chipped in with (19) points and (6) rebounds, and senior Ricky Reed (Henrietta, NY/Rush-Henrietta) also added (10) points and (2) assists as Medaille controlled play throughout.
The win gets the Mavs back and track and pushes their record to (10-5) overall and they move to (6-2) in AMCC play as the Mavs have now won (8) of their last (10) games. The Mavs will return to action on Monday (1/17) as they will host D'Youville College at 5:00 pm in another AMCC tilt.
