Choctaws Fall to ETBU, 78-75, Drop Fourth Straight Game

CLINTON, MS - The Mississippi College men's basketball team lost their fourth straight game overall and their fifth straight conference contest with a 78-75 loss to East Texas Baptist on Saturday afternoon in A.E. Wood Coliseum.

The Choctaws would grab a 37-26 lead with 1:38 remaining in the first half to take their largest advantage.  ETBU would score the final five points of the half to cut the lead to six points heading into intermission.

MC would stake claim to a 10-point lead with a 54-44 advantage with 13:54 remaining in the game.  The Tigers would use a 15-2 run over the next four minutes to take their first lead since the 11:03 mark of the first half when they were ahead, 20-19.

Senior Ken Black led MC with 25 points on 11-15 shooting from the floor.  Sophomore Cameron Bounds tallied his second double-double of the season with 13 points and 12 rebounds.  Junior Greg Pulliam also cracked double-figures with 11 points.

The Choctaws had one of their best shooting performances of the season, tallying a 50.9% (27-53) mark from the floor.  MC had a rough day at the free throw line, however, only making 15 of 30 attempts.

East Texas Baptist had four players in double-figures, led by Jeremy LaGarde with 20 points on 5-14 shooting from the floor and 8-11 from the free throw line.  Jaron Joseph finished with 15 points, Jacob Turnipseed tallied 11, and Deba Egharevba posted 10 points.

The Choctaws outrebounded the Tigers, 39-29, but only forced eight ETBU turnovers in the game.

The Choctaws will be back in action on Thursday night when they host Texas-Dallas at 7:30 p.m. in the "Golden Dome."
