GREENSBORO, N.C. – Sophomore Josh Pittman scored a game-high 28 points and grabbed a career-best nine rebounds in Guilford College's 68-43 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) basketball win over visiting Bridgewater College Wednesday night.

The Quakers (10-5, 4-2 ODAC) limited the Eagles (5-9, 1-4 ODAC) to 21.6 percent field-goal shooting in their fifth straight victory. The win also gave Guilford a sweep of the season series with Bridgewater.

Pittman, the reigning ODAC Player of the Week, shot seven-for-11 from three-point range in his team-leading sixth 20-point game of the season. After missing his first two treys, Pittman drained five of his next six long-range shots, including a first-half buzzer-beater that gave him 16 points and the Quakers a 32-23 halftime lead.

Guilford pulled away for its largest margin of victory thanks to its best defensive effort of the season. The Eagles managed just four-of-26 percent field-goal shooting (15.4%) in the second half and turned the ball over 18 times, which led to 15 Quakers' points. Rick Maloney paced Bridgewater with 14 points and nine rebounds.

The Quakers visit 14th-ranked Eastern Mennonite University Saturday (1/15) in a rematch of a 2010 NCAA Division III Tournament quarterfinal.
