WINCHESTER, Va. - Visiting N.C. Wesleyan saw all of five of its starters score in double figures Saturday afternoon in an 83-64 USA South Conference men's basketball victory over Shenandoah.

The Bishops (9-5, 1-0 USA South) starters scored all but 11 of their points in sending SU (1-11, 0-2) down to its ninth straight defeat.

After the Hornets jumped out to an early five-point, 7-2, lead, NCWC ran off 15 of the game's next 19 points to take a lead it would not relinquish.

This run took just over four minutes and saw the Bishops score nine straight at the back of it before Avery Green converted a fastbreak layup at the 9:58 mark.

Unfortunately, this only slowed the charge, as Wesleyan reeled off six straight points to push its advantage out to 12 points, 23-11, with 6:56 remaining.

Brandon Bryan, who had a career-high 23 points, combined with Mitch Dudley and Green to go on a 5-2 run for the hosts, but NCWC re-asserted control on Matt Dougherty 3-pointer with 3:54 showing.

NC Wesleyan kept its advantage in double digits for the remainder of the half and led 35-22 at the break.

SU would get no closer than 10 points the rest of the way and trailed by at least 14 in the final 10 minutes.

Bryan led all scorers with 23 while classmates Kevin Kline and Dudley added 15 and 10, respectively.

Kline needs 13 points for 1000 in his career while Dudley's game-high 14 rebounds gives him six double-doubles this season.

Domarius Thomas paced those five Bishops starters with 21.

Wesleyan shot 57 percent (35 for 62) in the game and held a 32-31 advantage on the glass.

Shenandoah hosts Marymount on Wednesday at 7:30 in its penultimate non-conference game of the season.
