Baruch Stays Undefeated in CUNYAC, Defeat Hunter (61-52)

The men's basketball team defeated their rival Hunter College Hawks, 61-52, in a CUNYAC home contest on Friday night in the ARC Arena.

The Bearcats (8-5, 3-0 CUNYAC) received balanced scoring with five players scoring at least eight points. Offensively, they shot 43 percent (22-51), and used their defense to limit the visiting Hawks (7-6, 2-2 CUNYAC) to only 29 percent (20-68) shooting.

Chris Beauchampled the Bearcats with 12 points (6-6 FT), while William Falkenhainerand Arki Wisnucontributed 10 points each. The 10 points for Falkenhainer was a career-high.

Sean Loftusmissed a double-double with eight points, 11 rebounds and four assists. Mickey Abbatielloscored eight points (4-8 fg) off the bench.

Panagi Koutsoloukas led the Hawks with 19 points and seven rebounds.

The men's basketball team will continue their busy schedule tomorrow, Saturday, January 8, with a 2:00 pm game at Division I and Ivy League opponent Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut.
