Nick Meunier tipped in a rebound with 5.8 seconds remaining to help St. Lawrence hand the Oswego State men's basketball team a 58-57 loss Wednesday night in Oswego.  Conor Monaghan hit a three-pointer and a free throw to give the Lakers a four-point lead, but Oswego State was held scoreless in the final 2:13.  The Lakers, who fell to 6-2 overall, will travel to Cortland Saturday for an 8 p.m. contest.  The Saints improved to 4-6 overall with the win.

Oswego State held a 34-28 lead with 4:11 to play in the first half after a three-point basket from Ryan Sheridan, but St. Lawrence finished the stanza strong with a 9-2 run to carry a slim 37-36 advantage into halftime.  Both squads shot extremely well from the floor in the half as the Lakers went 14-of-28, including 6-of-13 from long-range, while the Saints went 14-for-26.

The second half was a seesaw battle as each team put together small runs through the frame.  With the score knotted at 53-53 and 7:00 left in the game, neither squad was able score until Conor Monaghan hit a trey from the left wing after receiving a pass from Sheridan with 2:33 on the clock.  Monaghan drilled the front end of a 1-and-1 seconds later to put Oswego State ahead 57-53, but it would be the last points of the game for the Lakers. 

With ten seconds remaining, Hayden Ward blocked a St. Lawrence shot, but the Saints came away with the rebound and called timeout.  On the ensuing plays, St. Lawrence registered two offensive rebounds before Meunier scored the eventual game-winning basket with 5.8 seconds left.  Oswego State made an effort to get a shot off at the end of the game, but the Saints came up with a steal to preserve the win.

Chad Burridge led all scorers with 19 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the floor.  He was joined in double figures by teammates Conor Monaghan and Ryan Sheridan with 14 and 10 points, respectively.  St. Lawrence was paced by Garrett Sharlow's 15 points followed by 13 points from Terry Parham and 10 points from Jon Goldberg.  The Saints controlled the lane as they out-scored Oswego State 30-10 in the paint.
