HARRISONBURG, VA – No. 9 Randolph-Macon led wire-to-wire as the Yellow Jackets earned a hard fought 73-68 ODAC road win over No. 3 Eastern Mennonite on Saturday night in men's hoops action.

R-MC (5-2 / 1-1 ODAC) had four players in double figures led by Brandon Braxton's 15 points, while Calvin Croskey had 14, Jordan Brown added 11 and Danny Jones tallied 13 second half points in the win.  Kevin Voelkel grabbed eight rebounds in the victory, helping R-MC to a 36-29 advantage on the glass for the evening.

Randolph-Macon shot 25-of-54 (46.3%) from the floor and defensively held EMU to just 6-of-21 from beyond the three-point line.

With the score 18-16 in favor of the Jackets, R-MC went on a 13-2 run, taking a 13 point advantage when Brown converted a layup to make the score 31-18 with 6:20 to play.

EMU (6-1 / 2-1 ODAC) chipped away the remainder of the half, cutting the Jackets advantage to 36-30 when Owen Longacre made a bucket with three seconds on the clock.

The game remained close at the onset of the second half with R-MC extending its lead to seven points on two occasions, but EMU would ultimately tie the game at 47-47 on an Andrew Thorne three pointer with 12:17 to play in the game.

Over the next eight minutes, R-MC scored a 17-4 run, which was capped by a bucket from Jones that made the score 64-51 with 4:15 to play in the game.

The home standing Royals rallied, scoring 13 of the next 19 points, cutting the R-MC lead to 68-66 with 1:38 to go when Eli Crawford converted a pair of chances from the charity stripe.

That would be as close as the Jackets would allow the Royals to get as Jones, Voelkel and Adam Desgain all drained key free-throws down the stretch.

Thorne led four EMU players in double-digits with 15 points.  Todd Phillips had 12 points, while DJ Hinson and George Johnson tallied 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Randolph-Macon will be back in action when it travels to Lynchburg on Wednesday night for a 7:00 p.m. tip.
