Hartford, Conn. –  Junior guard  Nick Nedwick (Irvington, N.Y.) totaled 13 points and four assists to lead the visiting Eastern Connecticut State University Warriors to a 58-53 win over the Trinity College Bantams in men's basketball action this evening at Oosting Gymnasium.  Trinity drops to 2-1 with the loss in its home opener for first-year Head Coach James Cosgrove, while the Warriors improve to 2-1 with their third straight victory against the Bantams.   

Trinity took its largest lead for either team at 46-37 on a fast break lay-up by senior guard Brian Ford (Bronx, N.Y.) midway through the first half midway through the second half, but saw the Warriors outscore them 21-7 the rest of the way.  Eastern Connecticut rattled off nine straight points following Ford's bucket to tie the game at 46-46 on a drive by sophomore Mike Garrow (Terryville, Conn.), but Trinity built its lead back up to 53-48 with under four minutes left on an old-fashioned three-point play by senior co-captain guard Jared Pimm (Chelmsford, Mass.).  The Warriors took scored the game's final 10 points, including the go-ahead shot by junior center Chris Robitaille (Canton, Conn.) with just over two minutes remaining.  Trinity trailed by two points, 55-53, with possession of the ball but Bantam senior co-captain Luke MacDougall (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) missed a difficult shot inside with eight seconds on the clock.

Trinity sophomore guard Cameron Sutton (Queens, N.Y.) led all scorers with 15 points and added four assists, while Ford finished with 13 points, and MacDougall grabbed a game-high eight rebounds.  Trinity outshot Eastern Connecticut, 39-24, but the Warriors shot 52 percent from the field in the second half.  Trinity made just three attempts from long range in 15 attempts.  Garrow tied Nedwick for the Eastern Connecticut scoring lead with 13 points, while Robitaille added 12 points off the bench, and senior co-captain center Broderick Sawyer (Norwalk, Conn.) notched six rebounds and blocked four shots.
