How many teams from the UAA? How many from the ARC? Just one from the WIAC?

And just one from the CCIW, it turns out.

More tourney info

The times have been changing in Division III men's basketball, and if you stepped out of a time capsule after five years, you might find this bracket unusual, but it's not. Our team projected 21 of the 22 at-large bids, and since we always show our hand before the NCAA does, who knows if we'll ever get all of them again?

In the field: Stockton. Out: Illinois Wesleyan. Illinois Wesleyan finished with a loss in the CCIW final at home to Elmhurst and had a .704 winning percentage vs. D3, a .546 SOS and was 5-4 against regionally ranked teams in our mock ranking. Stockton had a .630 winning percentage, the lowest among at-large teams, but had a .574 SOS and a 5-6 mark against regionally ranked teams (in our ranking).

That's a .630 winning percentage, 17-10. The .630 is the lowest among all Pool C teams, ever, as far as we can tell. It matches the 17-10 mark that UW-Oshkosh had when it made the field in 2017. At that time, the NCAA committee chair, Calvin then-men's basketball coach Kevin Vande Streek, said: "I guess we'll look a couple years from now and say 'that committee really messed up.' Or maybe we'll say that was a good thing. I think all along we have been encouraged to go out and find good people to beat ... whenever they have contacted national committee members, we have said, you have to play better teams, you have to beat better teams."

Here's what the board looked like at the end.
