UW-La Crosse and Stockton beat the clock and their opponents on Wednesday night to keep their perfect records in tact while Rowan and Marymount didn't use their shot clocks much at all.

Sean Suchomel proved its better late than never, scoring his only two points of the game at the buzzer as No. 15 UW-La Crosse edged Augsburg in overtime, 75-74. The Eagles led 64-53 with five minutes to play when Augsburg scored 10 straight to set the stage for a dramatic finish. The teams finished regulation tied at 68 and both teams struggled to score early in the extra period. In the final minute of overtime, Connor Knoepfle sank two free throws for the Auggies to tie the game at 73 and then Joe Palmer split a pair to put Augsburg ahead by one. On the final possession, the Eagles rotated the ball around the arc until, with time running down, Will Furhmann passed the ball across court to Suchomel who drove the baseline and put up the game-winning fadeaway jumper.

Ethan Anderson scored 27 points on 11 for 15 shooting for UW-La Crosse and the Eagles shot 50 percent as a team.

Stockton had a big night from Kyion Flanders and a big shot from DJ Campbell and the Ospreys downed Salisbury, 82-80. The Sea Gulls had the ball with eight seconds remaining coming out of a timeout when Campbell stripped the ball away and scored the winning basket. He scored 24 points and Flanders had 30 for Stockton (3-0), which also went 11 for 12 from the foul line.

Rowan and Marymount took 84 shots apiece and the Profs made more of theirs, pulling away for a 119-108 victory. Arian Azemi scored 41 points for Rowan (3-0) and Xavier Reaves tallied 36 points and 16 rebounds for Marymount (0-2), and they had a lot of help. The Profs had seven players score double figures and the Saints had four.

Jaecee Martin had 20 points, six rebounds and four assists for No. 9 St. Joseph (Conn.) in the Blue Jays 76-59 win at Babson. St. Joseph had a 40-22 scoring advantage in the paint. No. 20 Roanoke made enough free throws down the stretch to stave off Methodist's late rally and win, 65-63. No. 14 Johns Hopkins led wire-to-wire in a 70-49 win over MAC Commonwealth preseason favorite York (Pa.).

Zach Warech posted a double-double off the bench for Ithaca and the Bombers beat arch rival Cortland, 72-63.

Looking for its first win as a Division III varsity program, Mary Baldwin fell just short again, this time falling to Randolph 119-115 in overtime. The Squirrels are 0-3 in their first year but two of the three losses came in overtime and the third was by three points.

Women's recap: Bombers drop Scranton

One night after No. 6 Messiah and No. 9 DeSales were upset, the other ranked Pennsylvania team met the same fate in Upstate New York where Ithaca handled No. 12 Scranton, 75-53. The Bombers (2-0) jumped out to an 18-7 lead and then blew the game wide open by outscoring the Lady Royals 23-12 in the fourth quarter. Four Ithaca starters scored double figures, led by Grace Cannon with 16 points. Ithaca shot 57 percent from the field (30 for 53) and held Scranton (2-1) to 15 field goals on 46 attempts (33 percent).

No. 3 Trine looked like it might also slip at Benedictine, but the Thunder turned a 38-37 deficit at the end of the third quarter into a 63-50 victory. Tara Bieniewicz scored seven of her game-high 23 points in the fourth quarter. Trine improved to 3-0 while Benedictine dropped to 1-3 with all three losses against ranked opponents.

Jaedon Murphy scored 36 points and grabbed nine rebounds in Wartburg's 91-71 win over UW-Stout. Murphy went 14 for 18 from the field with four 3-pointers and four for five from the foul line. Conference play began in the ODAC where Bridgwater (Va.), Hollins, Randolph, Randolph-Macon and Washington and Lee picked up wins.
