Austin College stayed perfect with an impressive 70-61 win over No. 5 Mary Hardin-Baylor while No. 7 Wartburg won another holiday tournament title. On the men's side, the Ducks hunted down the Blue Jays and No. 21 Guilford beat No. 2 Emory on a buzzer-beating bomb.

Unranked Austin led No. 5 Mary Hardin-Baylor wire-to-wire and the Kangaroos knocked down seven 3-pointers in a 70-61 victory. The Crusaders (8-2) pulled within five midway through the third period, only to see Reagan Chiaverini score four of her game-high 16 points and push the lead back toward double digits. Addison Walling's three gave the Kangaroos a 68-51 lead with under four minutes to play and put the game out of a reach. The Kangaroos improved to 9-0 against a Crusader squad that beat them 96-65 last season.
No. 7 Wartburg made a strong third quarter stand up, as the Knights outscored No. 11 UW-La Crosse 23-14 in that period and topped the Eagles, 67-60, to win their own holiday tournament. Wartburg (11-1) shot 9-for-13 from the field in the third period and pulled away in what had been a tie game. All-American Emma Gerdes played a well-rounded game for Wartburg with 14 points, seven assists, two steals and blocks. Dani Craig scored 16 points for the Eagles, who are 9-2 with both losses to Wartburg.

No. 19 UW-Whitewater defeated No. 17 St. Thomas 75-69 in a back-and-forth battle in Wiscconsin Dells. After falling behind 37-25 at the break, St. Thomas (7--3) came all the way back to take the lead, 48-45, on a three by Brynne Rolland in the closing minute of the third quarter. Johanna Taylor scored eight points on Whitewater's next four possessions, putting the Warhawks ahead 53-50 early in the fourth quarter. Whitewater expanded the lead to eight midway through the fourth quarter on Aleah Grundahl's layup, but the Tommies ralled again, this time within two on an Amber Darge three-pointer with 23 seconds left. Becky Raeder sunk all six free throw attempts for the Warhawks to close out the win, their 10th of the season. Raeder finished with a game-high 21 points including 10-for-12 from the line for the game.
No. 14 Baldwin Wallace rebounded from Sunday's lopsided loss to No. 7 Wartburg with a 72-60 win over Washington U in Iowa. The Yellow Jackets (9-1) scored the first nine points of the game and led wire-to-wire. Baldwin Wallace guard Riley Schill scored 20 points on 6-for-8 shooting from the field and a perfect 7-for-7 showing at the line. Washington U. finishes non-conference play 6-4.
Emerson sent No. 12 Messiah to a second loss at the Puerto Rico tournament as Kate Foultz made three late free throws to lift the Lions over the Falcons in overtime, 63-61. The Falcons (9-3) led 47-39 at the end of the three periods but made just three field goals in the fourth quarter, opening the door for Emerson's Quinn Madden to tie the game with a three with 24 seconds left. Sam Boyle had a double-double (12 points, 10 rebounds) and Madden just missed one (19 points, nine rebounds) for Emerson (7-5).
Smith stayed perfect with a 54-42 victory over Franklin and Marshall. Katelyn Pickuna paced the Pioneers with 15 points and seven rebounds. No. 25 Bethel also finished 2019 without a loss, as the Royals topped Salisbury, 63-43, behind another big game for Taite Anderson (24 points in 27 minutes).
Men's recap: Guilford beats the buzzer, No. 2 Emory
No. 2 Emory and No. 21 Guilford traded leads three times in the last 30 seconds, with the last one coming at the buzzer on Jaylen Gore's runner from well behind the arc to give the Quakers a 70-69 win. After Guilford took the lead 67-66 on Kyler Gregory's layup, Romin Williams responded with a three from straight away for Emory, putting the Eagles back in front, 69-67. Gore took the inbound pass, zigzagged through the defense and launched the game-winner.
