No. 13 DePauw moved to 3-0 with a road win at No. 9 Trine while DeSales dominated Stevens in a meeting of soon-to-be rivals. On the men's side Springfield continued to scuffle without its All-American and Emory and Henry stayed perfect.

DePauw defeated Trine 68-66 in a matchup of Great Lakes teams that are likely to contend for their respective conference titles. After Trine took a seven-point lead early in the fourth quarter, DePauw scored the next eight points to go in front, 63-62. Trine All-American Brandi Dawson answered with a layup and two free but those were the last points that the Thunder would score. Sydney Kopp scored a layup and added a free throw in the closing minutes for DePauw and the Tigers denied Trine a shot on its last possession. Recap

All-American Maya Howard scored a career-high 27 points for DePauw (3-0) which began a key stretch of non-conference games. DePauw will play No. 12 Illinois Wesleyan at Rose-Hulman's tournament next Saturday and then either the Engineers or No. 18 Washington U. on Sunday. Dawson led Trine (2-1) with 17 points in 37 minutes.

In meeting of future conference rivals, DeSales blitzed Stevens 84-56. The Bulldogs (3-1) turned 32 Stevens' turnovers into 35 points and Leandra Sterner scored 21 points with five 3-pointers. Stevens will leave the Empire 8 and join DeSales in the MAC Freedom conference next year. Recap

MIT hung with No. 8 Chicago into the fourth quarter before the Maroons pulled away for the 81-72 victory. MIT (3-1) trailed by just three entering the final period but Chicago (4-0) converted 10 of its 16 free throw attempts to secure the win. Miranda Burt led Chicago with 21 points and Olariche Obi added a double-double (10 points, 10 rebounds) off the bench. Recap

All-Americans Hannah Fox and Madeline Eck combined for almost as many points (37) as RPI scored as a team, and No. 1 Amherst rolled over the Engineers, 72-39. No. 24 Montclair State bounced back from Saturday's loss to St. Lawrence by beating Drew.

Sunday men: Struggles continue for Springfield

Claremont-Mudd-Scripps rolled over No. 7 Springfield 85-64 in the consolation game at the University of Chicago's tip-off tournament, sending the Pride to their second consecutive loss. Eleven players scored for the Stags, led by Jeremy Horn who had 20 points in 25 minutes. Playing without its injured All-American Jake Ross, Springfield (2-2) shot 8-for-27 in the first half and yielded 40 points on 50 percent shooting to Claremont. Chicago rallied past Ohio Wesleyan 82-70 in the title game of that event, thanks to 20 points apiece from Noah Karras and Jordan Baum.

All five starters for Emory and Henry scored double figures and the Wasps improved to 4-0 with an 86-74 win at No. 22 Maryville. The Scots (0-2) will try for their first win on Saturday at No. 18 Emory. The three ranked NESCAC teams all won handily with No. 8 Williams beating Southern Vermont by 31, No. 17 Middlebury topping Vermont Tech by 34 and No. 9 Hamilton rolling over York (N.Y.) by 60. Kena Gilmour tallied 28 points on 11-for-19 shooting in just 18 minutes for the Continentals.

Endicott continued its hot start with a 97-88 win at Babson. Keith Brown scored 38 points with 21 of them coming from behind the arc, and Kyle Henderson added 21 more for the Gulls (4-0). Endicott travels to Middlebury next Sunday.
