SUNY-Canton named Josh Ward, who spent last season as an assistant at Adrian College, as its new head women's basketball coach.

The school's Director of Athletics Randy B. Sieminski announced the hire through a release on Aug. 27.

"Josh's strong recruiting abilities and professionalism helped him stand out among a large number of applicants in a national search," Sieminski said in the release. "He has proven experience with multiple NCAA Division III programs and has learned the ins and outs of running a successful collegiate team from two top head coaches who have been in the business nearly 40 years."

Ward was the top assistant to Kathy Morris at Adrian last season where he helped with recruiting, game plans, scouting and player development. The Bulldogs went 8-16, 5-11 in the MIAA. Previously Ward spent two seasons as an assistant to Suzy Venet at the University of Mount Union and was part of the staff that led the Purple Raiders to the 2016 OAC title.

He replaces Josh Suttles who went 12-14 in his lone season as the Kangaroos' head coach.

SUNY-Canton will also have a new conference this upcoming season. The Roos are joining the NAC which is undergoing a number of membership changes.
