Men's basketball head coach Mike DeGeorge has resigned his position at Rhodes College to take over the helm of NCAA Division II Colorado Mesa University.
DeGeorge, who has guided the Lynx for the last eight years while acquiring a 110-96 overall record as his teams went 62-40 from the 2010-11 season until now. In just his second season DeGeorge took the Lynx from a 7-18 record to 18-9 while producing a 12-win conference record, the most in 20 years for the program.
During his tenure with the Lynx, DeGeorge and staff won three conference championships with they garnered the coveted Southern Athletic Association tournament championship for the first time in 2017, earning them a trip to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 24 years. Prior to his time in Memphis, DeGeorge was the head coach at Eureka from 2000-04 and at Cornell from 2004-09.
DeGeorge will take over the Mavericks who went 11-17 on the year this past year. CMU is a member of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference with members from Colorado, Nebraska, New Mexico, South Dakota and Utah.

A search for Rhodes' next head basketball coach will begin after the college hires a new athletic director. Information on the posting will be made available once it has been received.
