After recording more than 400 victories in 20 seasons as Cortland's women's basketball head coach, Jeannette Mosher is leaving the Red Dragon program to take the head coaching role at Texas-Tyler.
Mosher will replace Kendra Hassell, who left the position in March to become head coach at her alma mater, Hardin-Simmons.
“I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead of me at The University of Texas at Tyler,” Mosher said. “I look forward to building a program and know that my experience at SUNY Cortland will help me through the challenges. My visit and conversations with staff members at Tyler, seemed natural and genuine. It feels like a great fit. I am very excited. There comes a point in our life where we seek new challenges and opportunities.”
Lindsey Minor, an assistant coach under Mosher the past three seasons and a four-year guard for the Red Dragons from 2011-15, will assume the role of interim head coach while a national search is immediately conducted for the position.
Mosher came to Cortland in 1998 after coaching four seasons at Alfred from 1994-98. She finished with a combined record of 407-146 (.736) at Cortland, and her career coaching record is 440-211.
Mosher was named the State University of New York Athletic Conference Coach of the Year six times and the Women's Basketball Coaches Association East Region Coach of the Year in 2009-10. She was also the Basketball Coaches Association of New York Coach of the Year on six occasions and was inducted into the BCANY New York State Basketball Hall of Fame in 2017.
Under Mosher's leadership, the Red Dragons won five SUNYAC titles and qualified for eight Division III NCAA Tournaments. Her teams reached the 20-win mark 10 times, including a 27-3 record and NCAA Sweet 16 showing in 2000-01, a 26-2 mark and NCAA second-round appearance in 1999-2000, and a 26-3 record and NCAA second-round finish in 2006-07.

UT-Tyler has advanced to six straight American Southwest Conference tournaments and advanced to the NCAA Division III postseason three of the past five seasons.
