MacMurray announced Chad Harmon, who served as the director of basketball operations for the University of Evansville men's basketball program, as the next head women's basketball coach.
Harmon replaces Derek James, who coached the Highlanders for the past five seasons, to a record of 21-105 (.167).
"We are so happy to have Harmon join our athletics family here at MacMurray," said MacMurray athletics director Justin Fuhler. "Harmon brings in the knowledge and experience from both the Division III and Division I level in several different roles, which we thought was really important for his future success at MacMurray."
Before working at Evansville, Harmon's alma mater, he amassed many unique experiences ranging from being a part of national championship teams at the NJCAA level at Lincoln College and working as a video coordinator in the WNBA. He also worked as the assistant women's basketball coach at Monmouth and as an assistant men's coach at Illinois-Springfield and Lincoln College.
"I feel very privileged and honored that Justin Fuhler and the search committee chose me as their next head women's basketball coach at MacMurray," said Harmon. "I am beyond excited to start working with these young ladies not only on the basketball court, but also in the classroom.
"We are going to come together as a team, have a true family atmosphere and work hard. All of this will create a phenomenal student-athlete experience that I believe will lead to success on and off the basketball court."
Harmon will officially start at the beginning of April.
