Muhlenberg has only played four games but sophomore guard Brandi Vallely has already had a record breaking season.
In the season opener Vallely had a triple double to help the Mules past Moravian, 77-74. Vallely tallied 13 points, 15 assists and 10 rebounds in 39 minutes. Six days later Vallely picked up another triple double in in Muhlenberg’s 82-50 win over Hood -- 14 points, 12 assists and 11 rebounds in just 23 minutes.
After she “only” notched 16 points, nine assists and seven rebounds against Cortland State, Vallely reached the triple double mark again on Tuesday night. She posted 16 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds in the Mules’ 78-50 win over Franklin and Marshall in the Centennial Conference opener.
With three triple doubles in four games, including two in a row, Vallely has already made history:
- Before this season there were two triple doubles in Muhlenberg women’s basketball history. So Vallely has already more than doubled that amount herself.
- The NCAA has only tracked triple doubles as a statistical category since 2010. But during that period, no women’s player has had more than two in a season before Vallely.
