After four Skyline Conference titles and NCAA Tournament appearances in six seasons, men's basketball coach Jeff Charney and SUNY-Purchase have agreed to part ways.

Beset by multiple early-season injuries, the Panthers followed up their 26-3 season and second-round NCAA Tournament appearance with a 1-10 start, finishing 9-17, 9-9 in the Skyline Conference.

"The school and myself came to a mutual decision that it was time for me to move on and pursue another coaching job," Charney told Hoopsville's Dave McHugh. "There are no hard feelings. I thank the school for giving me the opportunity to coach college basketball. We weren't expecting our success when they hired me."

It was the only losing season in Charney's seven years. The Panthers posted a 130-65 mark (.667) in his tenure.
