Freshman Kaitlyn Read scored a game-high 26 points and added nine rebounds to help lead NYU to a 77-71 win over No. 7 Emory.

"Kaitlyn is just a winner; a competitor," said Violets coach Lauren Hall-Gregory. "She doesn't act like a freshman or play like a freshman. She's such a great asset to the team."

Megan Dawe added 18 points and five rebounds.

The Millsaps women handed No. 21 Rhodes its third loss of the season, as the Majors overcame 27 points from Lauren Avent and 22 from Symone Daniels. Aside from those two, the remaining three starters and bench combined for just seven points, however. Kala Freeman led Millsaps with 15 points and seven rebounds.

The third-ranked Whitman women remained undefeated with a 78-61 win vs. Lewis and Clark, while No. 22 Ferrum defeated Piedmont (11-5) by a 79-61 margin.

In men's action, Collin Lopez, Blake Scinta and Donovan Whiteside led four scorers scored 12 points apiece and Josh Karsner added 11 to lead Centre to a 52-47 win vs. No. 21 Oglethorpe. The Colonels held off a late rally by the Stormy Petrels, who scored eight of the final nine points. Oglethorpe also lost starting guard Drew Patrick to an injury in the first half.

John Ivy came up big again for Brockport State, leading the No. 23-ranked Golden Eagles to an 81-79 win at Oneonta State. Ivy scored 30, including a three-point play with three seconds left to give Brockport the lead for good.

New Paltz gave up a 13-point lead in the final eight minutes of regulation and fell in overtime to Geneseo, while a Colorado College win and a Schreiner loss moved the teams back into a tie for first in the SCAC.
