Piedmont has announced that it will promote Lee Glenn to take over as the school's head men's coach and head men's and women's golf coach. Glenn was the assistant coach on last year's men's basketball team that posted a 17-10 overall record and runner-up finish in the Great South Athletic Conference tournament.

Glenn fills the vacancy left by six-year coach Chris Faulkner who resigned last week to assume the position of head men's basketball coach at North Georgia College & State. Faulkner, who was named the 2003 Great South Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Coach of the Year, is a 1993 NGCSU graduate.

In addition to his basketball duties last season, Glenn served Piedmont as the head men's and women's cross country coach and sports information director. As cross country coach, he guided the men's team to the GSAC championship and the school's first-ever National Christian College Athletic Association national championship meet appearance. For winning the GSAC conference championship, Glenn was named the men's cross country coach of the year. As the school's SID, Glenn was responsible for promotion of the school's athletic department and oversaw production of all print publications and the design and maintenance of the athletic department Web site.

"I am thrilled about the opportunity to continue to develop the men's basketball and golf programs at Piedmont College," Glenn said. "Our goals are to continue to create immediate excitement on our beautiful campus and make PC and the Demorest community proud of their athletic programs and their student-athletes."

Glenn came to Piedmont from Methodist, where he was the director of athletic communications for three seasons. At Methodist, he was the athletic department's primary media contact and handled event management for the school's 19 intercollegiate sports. In his tenure, he was responsible for promoting three women's golf NCAA national championship teams and seven additional individual NCAA national titles. Glenn, who holds a B.S. in history, went to Methodist in the summer of 1999 as an assistant men's basketball coach.

Prior to his assignment at Methodist, Glenn was the director of junior high athletics and coached various sports at Keystone Heights (Fla.) High School. In addition to being on the 1999 boy's basketball coaching staff that led the Indians to their first-ever FHSAA Final Four appearance, he compiled a 139-26 record and two state tournament appearances as the head coach of the boys' and girls' tennis teams. Glenn also held down the post as head junior high football coach where he led his 80-person roster to an 11-3 record in two seasons.
