HILLSDALE, Mich. – Kalamazoo's Dirk Rhinehart ended his record-breaking free-throw streak when he missed his fourth attempt of the night Dec. 17 in a 91-78 loss to Division II Hillsdale. Rhinehart's record run stopped at 84, breaking the Division III record of 70 set by Illinois Wesleyan's Korey Coon from Feb. 13-Dec. 4, 1999. Rhinehart's streak started Jan. 3, 2001. The men's record for most consecutive free throws in one season is still held by Mike Michelson, who hit 59 in a row for Coast Guard in the 1989-90 season.
