Pat Coleman has been running D3hoops.com since November 1997, when he took the site over from its founders at the Centennial Conference. Since then, the site has spawned a vast network of websites, covering football, men's and women's soccer, baseball and ice hockey as well as specialty sites for job seekers, a message board and blogs.

Pat has covered every Final Four since 1998, and counts among his personal highlights being able to call play-by-play at the Final Four for more than a decade, including in 2001, when his alma mater, Catholic University, won the Division III men's basketball national championship.

In June 2013, Pat received the Jake Wade Award from the College Sports Information Directors of America. The award is presented annually to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution in the media to the field of intercollegiate athletics. Previous winners include Keith Jackson, Dick Enberg, Billy Packer and Robin Roberts.

From 2016-2018, Pat turned over day-to-day operations to Gordon Mann, who handled all editorial decisions for D3hoops.com, during which time Pat continued to run D3football.com and D3sports.com, and provide strategic direction and logistical support for the network as a whole. He returned to the top editorial spot for D3hoops.com at the end of March 2018.

During the day Pat works as a communications consultant, having been a social media manager for a large corporate travel management company. He also worked as deputy managing editor at Verizon Headlines, copy desk chief at NBCSports.com and spent more than a decade at USA Today. He and his wife Cate have three children: Keaton, Robert and Colleen. He has returned to his home state of Minnesota after nearly two decades in the Washington area.
