LAS VEGAS - Husson capped a fantastic second day of basketball at the D3hoops.com Classic when Trevon Butler drained a buzzer-beating 3-pointer to defeat Hampden-Sydney 53-51.

Four of the five games at the South Point Hotel and Casino Arena came down to the final possession, with one of them going to overtime.
Butler's 3-pointer came at the end of a crazy possession which saw Husson have two shots at taking the lead. Butler missed a 3-pointer with 16 seconds to go, which went out of bounds off of Hampden-Sydney. After the Eagles inbounded the ball, they took a timeout with 12 seconds left to set up the final possession, which saw Butler dribble across the top of the key and look to pass before noticing the time ticking down.
"I was supposed to come off a screen and get it and then penetrate to the middle but they closed off very hard," Butler said after the game. "It was great defense. I tried to pass it to Raheem (Anderson) but I looked up and it was one second and I let it go."
Butler finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Eagles (8-1). Greg Lewis led Hampden-Sydney (8-1) with 13 points.

Women's No. 1 team FDU-Florham ran its win streak to 42 consecutive games and survived a last-second heave by UW-Stevens Point to win 60-58. The Devils (9-0) led by as many as 11 points in the second half before the Pointers (7-5) battled back into the game. But Florham harrassed the Stevens Point offense into 24 turnovers and Shalette Brown's double-double of 17 points and 10 boards lifted the Devils to the win.
Earlier in the night, Jake Jarnigo hit a shot with 29 seconds left in overtime to lift Wisconsin Lutheran to a 70-69 overtime win vs. Willamette in the teams' first game at the D3hoops.com Classic. Jarnigo had scored 23 points on 8-for-12 shooting in the first half, then cooled as Willamette showed more defensive attention on him. But he came up with the last shot when needed and finished with 35 points, including 5-for-8 on 3-point attempts.
On a Scranton team filled with veterans, it was freshman Kevin Doolan who came up with the clutch plays in the No. 16 Royals' 64-61 victory over Hanover. Doolan scored a season-high 18 points, including three free throws in the final 18 seconds of play, as the Royals improved to 7-2 on the season. Scranton also received 19 points from senior guard Ross Danzig and 16 from junior forward Brendan Boken.
In the first game of the day, Ashton Reid came off the bench to score a game-high 16 points as Occidental picked up its first win of the season, defeating Wentworth 50-42.
