1985 Division III men's basketball tournament

North Park needed a rally in the closing minutes of the 1985 Division III men's basketball national championship to eke out a 72-71 win against Potsdam State. It was the fourth Walnut and Bronze for the Vikings. They were the third title team in a row to be taken to overtime in the regional round as they survived UW-Whitewater in the second round. They won their next three games by a  total of eight points.
