Friday: Holiday road warriors
No. 11 Redlands traveled east to Virginia to beat No. 13 Roanoke while No. 6 Chicago came even farther east and topped No. 14 Catholic in Puerto Rico. No. 14 St. Thomas downs Marietta 73-65
KERRVILLE, Texas — No. 14 ranked University of St. Thomas (TX) made six of eight free throws down the stretch to hold off Marietta College, 73-65, Sunday (Dec. 21) evening in the second round of the Leslie Robinson Holiday Classic being hosted by Trinity University. Marietta moves to 6-6 on the season, while St. Thomas improves to 9-1 overall.

Captains Blow Out Wellesley Blue in St. Pete Classic, 94-54, To Win Tenth Straight
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- All sixteen Captains finished with at least one made field goal in one of the most impressively balanced scoring performances in program history as the nationally-ranked Christopher Newport women's basketball team surged past Wellesley College (4-5) in the St. Pete Classic, 94-54. CNU won its tenth straight game and scored 94 points desptie no one player eclipsing 11 points in the contest.
