    HARTFORD, Conn. - The visiting Trinity College Bantams fell victim to a cold shooting night in a 63-46 loss against the Smith College Pioneers in the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championship Tournament this evening at Ainsworth Gymnasium.  The No. 20-ranked Bantams' season finishes up with a program record 25 wins and just six losses and the team's first-ever appearance in the NCAA Quarters.  Trinity junior center Reilly Campbell (Wallingford, Conn.) had 12 points and junior guard Emma Wax (Pine Brook, N.J.) scored 10 points, while Ally Yamada came off the bench to score 21 of her game-high 23 points in the first half.  Smith will head down to Hartford for the NCAA Semifinals on Saturday, March 18 at Trinity's Oosting Gymnasium.  The Pioneers, ranked No. 4 nationally, improve to 30-1.

    NORTHAMPTON, Mass. - Junior Emma Wax (Pine Brook, N.J.) had 16 points and eight rebounds to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 63-56 victory over the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Warhawks in the third round of the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championship Tournament this evening at Smith College's Ainsworth Gymnasium.  Trinity earns its program-record 25th win against just five losses and will face either the host Smith Pioneers or Mary Washington tomorrow night in the NCAA Quarterfinals. The winner of tomorrow night's game will play in the NCAA Semifinals next Saturday at Trinity's Oosting Gymnasium.
  • Trinity College Women's Basketball Races Past Cortland State in NCAA Second Round

    HARTFORD, Conn. - The Trinity College Bantams blew past the SUNY Cortland Red Dragons in the third quarter and held on in the fourth for a 64-59 victory in the second round of the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championship Tournament on Ogrodnik Court at Oosting Gymnasium this evening. No. 16-ranked Trinity, which downed Notre Dame (Md.), 58-43, yesterday for its first NCAA win since 1995, advances to the Round of Sixteen for the first time in program history while improving to 24-5, its highest-ever win total. The Red Dragons end the year at 24-5. Junior center Reilly Campbell (Wallingford, Conn.) paced the Bantams statistically with 19 points and 11 rebounds, recording her 20th double-double of the season. The Bantams will face the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in the next round.
  • Trinity Upends Notre In NCAA Women's Basketball First Round

    HARTFORD, Conn. - Junior center Reilly Campbell (Wallingford, Conn.) had 14 points and 19 rebounds to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 58-43 win over the visiting Notre Dame Maryland University Gators in the opening round of the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championship Tournament this evening at Oosting Gymnasium. Trinity improves to 23-5, setting a program record for wins in a season, and will face SUNY Cortland at home in the second round tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. Notre Dame sees its season end at 23-5. The Cortland Red Dragons defeated St. Vincent, 62-51, in the other first round today in Hartford. The NCAA win was just the second in Trinity history and the first for the Bantams since a 66-63 triumph against Southern Maine in 1995.

    The top seeds advanced through the NESCAC and NJAC women’s playoffs with No. 19 Trinity (Conn.) edging Amherst and Rowan rallying past Ramapo. Elsewhere, No. 24 Loras knocked off No. 20 Wartburg and Muskingum closed its season by upsetting No. 11 Ohio Northern.

    HARTFORD, Conn. - Junior center Reilly Campbell (Wallingford, Conn) recorded a dominant 22 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 58-57 win over the visiting Amherst College Mammoths in the quarterfinals of the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Women's Basketball Championship Tournament this afternoon on Ogrodnik Court in Oosting Gymnasium.  The No. 3-seeded Bantams improve to 21-4 on the season and advances to the semifinals next Saturday against Williams College at Tufts University.  Top-seeded Tufts will host the semifinals and final on February 25 & 26 at Cousens Gymnasium. Ticket information will be announced on Tuesday, February 21 in the afternoon. No. 6-seeded Amherst drops to 17-8 and hopes to be selected for the NCAA Tournament as an at-large pick. Trinity, ranked No. 17 nationally, looks to avenge their regular season one-point loss to the No. 2-seeded Williams Ephs next weekend. Amherst led, 38-32, at halftime.

    MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - Junior center Reilly Campbell (Wallingford, Conn.) had 17 points, 13 rebounds, four assists, and three steals to lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams to a 60-47 victory over the Middlebury College Panthers in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) women's basketball action this afternoon at Pepin Gymnasium.  Trinity, ranked No. 9 in the nation, improves to 20-2 overall and 7-1 in the NESCAC, giving Head Coach Emily Garner the 100th win in her career.  Middlebury drops to 12-10 overall and 4-5 in the league.  Bantam junior Emma Wax (Pine Brook, N.J.) added 15 points and senior Bria Fuller (Springdale, Md.) scored 11 points.  Garner improves to 80-43 in her six years with the Bantams and is 37-8 over the last two seasons.

    BABSON PARK, Mass. — With a little more than four minutes remaining in the third quarter, Emma Wax (Pine Brook, N.J.) pulled up for a jump shot to take the first lead of the game, 39-37, for the Trinity College women's basketball team and the junior's career-high 22 points in the Navy & Gold helped the team defeat No.11 Babson college on the road on Monday, 65-61. Trinity improved to 17-1 on the season while the Beavers dropped to 15-2. The Bantams return to action on their home hardwood on January 27 with a 7 p.m tip against New England Small College Athletic Conference rival Hamilton College.

    HARTFORD, Conn. - Junior Emma Wax (Pine Brook, N.J.) scored 11 of her game-high 18 points to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 49-43 win over the visiting Bowdoin College Polar Bears in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) women's basketball action this afternoon on Ogrodnik Court in Oosting Gymnasium. Trinity, ranked No. 22 in the nation, came back from a 41-31 deficit after three quarters to outscore the Polar Bears, 18-2, in the final stanza to improve to 13-1 overall and 2-0 in the NESCAC. No. 25-ranked Bowdoin drops to 10-3 overall and 1-1 in the conference. Trinity hosts league rival Connecticut College in its next game on Friday at 7 p.m.

    SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Juniors Reilly Campbell (Wallingford, Conn.) and Emma Wax (Pine Brook, N.J.) combined for 34 points and 22 rebounds to lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams to a 58-45 victory over the Springfield College Pride in the opening game of the Hampton Inn West Springfield/Naismith Women's Basketball Classic this evening at Blake Arena.  Trinity improves to 10-1 with its seventh victory in a row and will close out 2022 against Skidmore in at Springfield tomorrow at 5:30 p.m.  The Pride, ranked No. 13 in the nation, falls to 9-2 and sees its eight-game winning come to and end.  Springfield plays Wilkes in the final game of the Naismith Classic tomorrow at 7:30 p.m.
  • Trinity Women's Basketball Overpowers Norwich for Ed Hockenbury Crown, 62-39

    NORWICH, Vt. — In the Championship round of the Ed Hockenbury Classic hosted by Norwich University, Francesca SIlva (Auburndale, Mass.) and Emma Wax (Pine Brook, N.J.) led the Trinity College women's basketball team to the crown on Saturday with a 62-39 blowout over the Cadets with 16 and 14 points, respectively. The Bantams improved to 6-1 on the season, while the host team fell to 4-3. Trinity returns home on Tuesday with a 7:30 p.m. matchup against Emmanuel College
