Women's

Emma Shinney

Shinney contributed to the Gulls' 2-0 conference week in several different ways, as she averaged 18 points and 12 assists in wins against Curry and Gordon. In Tuesday's 81-62 win at Curry, Shinney notched 11 points, 11 assists, and seven rebounds in a full 40 minutes of play. She followed up the near triple-double by scoring a career-high 25 points (10-17 FG) and setting a program record with 13 assists in Saturday's 94-82 win over Gordon. She also pulled down another seven rebounds in the all-around 40 minute effort.

 

Daniella Aronsky

Aronsky had one of the best weekends of her junior season, helping the Eagles earn two wins against Case Western Reserve and Carnegie Mellon. She totaled 38 points on the weekend including a career-high 26 points against the Spartans on Friday night. She also posted seven baskets from beyond the arc to tie her career high. On Sunday, Aronsky notched a double-double with 12 points at 13 assists, her best this season and the second best of her career. 
 

 

Olivia Dobrovosky

Dobrovosky played just one game this week, but it was enough to be named the Empire 8 co-Player of the Week and clinch a share of the regular season title as Nazareth beat St. John Fisher on the road. Dobrovosky went 8-10 from the field and was perfect from the arc as she scored 19 with six boards, three assists, and three steals.

 

Yasmine Santos

Santos closed out her season with a bang, averaging 39 points and 11 rebounds per game while leading the Mitchell College women's basketball team to a 2-0 record on the week with conference victories over Rivier and Norwich. Santos shot 50% from the floor and 76% from the free-throw line, netting the 1,000th point of her career.. She began the week with a double-double against Rivier, finishing with 37 points (12-24 shooting), 13 rebounds, two assists, and one steal. Santos then turned in a career best on Senior Day, pouring in 40 points (11-22 shooting), while adding eight rebounds, two assists, and one steal.

 

Samaree Perkins

Perkins helped Capital to a 2-0 week with comeback wins over Muskingum (68-66) and John Carroll (76-66). Against Muskingum, she finished with a career-high tying 22 points to go with 10 rebounds, a block, and a steal. Near the end of regulation through OT, Perkins scored 11 straight points to help Capital complete the 21-point comeback. Against JCU, she ended with 18 points, 14 rebounds, two assists and a steal to help the Comets flip a halftime deficit to a 10-point win.  

 

Men's

Josiah Johnson

Johnson recorded a pair of double-doubles in wins at home last week. He totaled 41 points in the Cru's overtime victory over McMurry, adding 16 points in the overtime period to lead the Cru to the win. Johnson followed that with 30 points against Hardin-Simmons, helping the Cru knock off top-ranked HSU and earn the No. 4 seed at the conference championship tournament. Johnson shot 47% from the floor and 42% from behind the arc on the week.

 

Avery Beaver

Beaver averaged 26 points and shot 59% from the field in two Wabash victories to lead the Little Giants to their second regular season NCAC title. He scored a career-high 24 points and made 8-of-15 field goals (5-10 from three) in the Little Giants' 90-76 victory over Ohio Wesleyan, while handing out a career-high 10 assists for the first double-double of his career.  Beaver then topped his career-high with a 27-point effort in a 91-81 win over Wooster to give the Little Giants the regular-season conference crown and the top seed in the 2024 NCAC tournament. The senior guard made 8-of-12 shots from the field. He canned 7 of 10 three-point shots and finished 4 of 4 from the free throw line.
 
 

Sahmi Willoughby

Willoughby led Marietta to a pair of OAC wins last week. He scored 15 points, grabbed eight rebounds and blocked two shots in MC's upset of No. 24 Mount Union hitting 5-of-7 from the floor, including 3-of-4 from three-point range. He followed that with 22 points and 24 rebounds hitting 9-of-13 shots, including 3-of-5 from three-point range in MC's win over Baldwin Wallace. His 24 rebounds set a school single game record.

 

Ryan Broeckel

Broeckel averaged 22 points and 18 rebounds per game last week for the Warriors, who clinched their fourth conference title in the last five seasons with wins over Edgewood (76-58) and Lakeland (87-75). Broeckel tied for a game-high 18 points and grabbed a career-high 21 rebounds on Feb. 14 versus the Eagles. He followed with 26 points and 15 rebounds, both game-highs, on Feb. 17 vs. the Muskies. Broeckel added eight assists, seven steals, and three blocks on a week where he went 13-for-14 from the charity stripe.
 

Carter Huschka

Huschka finished two assists shy of a triple-double in a win over UW-Stevens Point on February 14. He pulled down 17 rebounds in a win over UW-La Crosse on February 17, tying the mark for the most single-game rebounds by a WIAC player this season. Set new career highs in single-game assists and rebounds during the week, averaging 16 points, 14 boards, and five assists per game, with just one turnover the entire week.
