The Trine Thunder upset No. 3 UW-La Crosse on the road while Elmhurst rallied late to beat the Wheaton Thunder in a Saturday night thriller. Elsewhere, ETBU zapped No. 24 Mary Hardin-Baylor and No. 7 Rochester surged past Wooster in Saturday's Division III men's basketball action.
Randolph-Macon started fast and finished strong as the top-ranked Yellow Jackets outlasted No. 2 Trine 69-55 on Sunday. The game, the first meeting of No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the D3hoops.com Top 25 in more than four years, was essentially a postseason bowl game.
This might be the only truly postseason game we get in Division III basketball this season: No. 2 Trine is driving from Indiana to take on No. 1 Randolph-Macon on Sunday afternoon, and Ryan Scott has a preview.
