  • Bickey Named to ODAC Third Team

    FOREST, Va.- On Wednesday afternoon, the Old Dominion Athletic Conference announced its All-Conference Team for Men’s Basketball. Senior Danny Bickey (Beckley, W.V./Woodrow Wilson) was the lone representative for Randolph as he was named to the Third Team. Bickey is the first Randolph men’s player to earn All-ODAC honors since Sammy Hooper in 2019.
  • Randolph Men’s Hoops Gets Big ODAC Win over Virginia Wesleyan 75-62

    LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Randolph men’s basketball team returned to conference play as they hosted Virginia Wesleyan on Wednesday evening. The WildCats shot a season-high 50.9% from the floor as they defeated the Marlins 75-62. Randolph improves to 5-9 overall and 1-4 in the ODAC while Virginia Wesleyan drops to 11-2 overall and 3-2 in the conference.

    WOOSTER, OHIO- The Randolph men’s basketball played Mount Aloysius in the consolation game of the Al Van Wie/Wooster Classic on Saturday afternoon. Four players scored in double digits for Randolph as they defeated the Mounties 90-66.

The WildCats had a double-digit lead on the Hornets late into the second half and held off a Lynchburg rally in defeated the Hornets 80-76.

    LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Randolph men’s basketball team hosted its first game of the 2021-22 season on Wednesday night as the WildCats welcomed Mary Baldwin to Giles Gymnasium. Randolph gave its home fans something to cheer for and then some as the WildCats outscored the Fighting Squirrels 119-115 in overtime.

    BRIDGEWATER, Va.- Brian Smith (Dumfries, Va./C.D. Hylton) has the tendency to show up in big games. A year ago, Smith dropped 25 points as the WildCats upset Virginia Wesleyan 57-54 in the First Round of the ODAC Tournament. Smith duplicated the same effort on Monday night as he scored 27 points to lead Randolph to an 88-80 win over Bridgewater and advance the ’Cats to Salem, Va. to the Quarterfinals.

    LYNCHBURG, Va.- Randolph trailed by double digits late in the first half against Eastern Mennonite but outscored the Royals 35-22 in the second half to win 62-56 on Wednesday night at the RAD Center. The win ups the WildCats’ overall record to 9-12 and 4-8 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference while the Royals fall to 9-11 and 4-7 in the ODAC.
  • Randolph Men’s Hoops Reaches Century Mark in Victory over Hornets

    LYNCHBURG, Va.- Five Randolph players reached double figures as Randolph men’s basketball shot a season-best 64.1% from the floor in defeating Shenandoah 100-72 on Saturday afternoon at the RAD Center. The 100 points scored by Randolph is just the second time in program history that it has been achieved and the first time since 2007. It is also the first time it has been done over a conference opponent.

    LYNCHBURG, Va.- Randolph men’s basketball hosted Apprentice School in a non-conference game on Wednesday night at the RAD Center. It was a tight contest for 60 minutes as the visiting Builders were able to come away with a 76-74 win. Apprentice improves to 4-1 on the season while the WildCats drop to 4-2.

Forsyth Court. The WildCats trailed by 10 points in the first half but rallied in the second and held off the Marlins 57-54 to advance to the quarterfinals in Salem, Va.

The victory, the WildCats’ second in the last three games, lifts Randolph to 6-17 overall and 3-11 in the ODAC. The Royals drop to 9-13 and 4-10 in the conference.

With the clock winding down, Reid Jacoby (Richmond, Va./Benedictine) gave the WildCats what they needed as he drained a three-point shot at the buzzer to give Randolph a thrilling 60-59 victory over Southern Virginia on Saturday afternoon at the RAD Center.
