  • Emmanuel's Yosinoff sets Division III women's basketball wins mark

    BOSTON, Mass. – Emmanuel College women's basketball Head Coach Andy Yosinoff rewrote the NCAA record books by earning his 816th career coaching win as the Emmanuel Saints posted a 68-58 victory over Ramapo College on December 30th. The victory moves Yosinoff to the top of the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball annals, passing former Scranton Head Coach Mike Strong (1980-14) for the most wins by a head coach in NCAA Division III Women's Basketball history.

    Providence, R.I. - The Emmanuel College women's basketball team erased a 17-point deficit to come from behind and pick up a 75-71 overtime win against host Rhode Island College on Monday evening in non-conference play at the Murray Center. The victory was win #815 for EC Head Coach Andy Yosinoff, tying him for the most wins in NCAA Division III Women's Basketball history.

    BOSTON, Mass. – Emmanuel College upended Salve Regina University, 67-50, in non-conference women's basketball action played in the Jean Yawkey Center on Monday night. EC held a slim five-point lead at the break, but dominated second-half action, out-scoring the visitors 39-27. The win boosts the Saints to 9-5 on the season, while Salve Regina falls to 5-8 overall.

    BOSTON, Mass. – The Emmanuel College Women's Basketball Team upended the visiting Gulls of Endicott College, 63-52, on Tuesday night in non-conference action played in the Jean Yawkey Center. The Saints improved to 6-3 with the win, while the Gulls fell to 5-2 with the set-back. Emmanuel has now defeated Endicott in all seventeen meetings between these two programs, dating back to the 1994 season.

    BOSTON, Mass. – The Emmanuel College Women's Basketball Team suffered an 80-72 loss to Brandeis University on Tuesday night in a perennial non-conference match-up falling on Thanksgiving week. The Saints, who slid two spots to No. 25 in this week's Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) USA Today National Poll, dropped to 4-2 overall with the loss. The Judges improved to 2-3 on the season with the win.

    MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – Middlebury saw it’s 27-23 halftime lead over Emmanuel turn into a 38-28 deficit early in the second half as the Saints spoiled the Panthers’ home-opener with a 65-43 road win at Pepin Gym. Emmanuel (4-1) came into the game hitting just 1-23 three pointers, but connected on 5-14 from long distance, hitting on 29-54 from the field, while holding the Panthers (1-2) to 14-50 shooting for the game.

    BOSTON, Mass. – Emmanuel College defeated Ohio Wesleyan University, 61-48, in the championship game of the 30th Annual EC Invitational Women's Basketball Tournament. EC improves to 2-0 on the year and has now captured the tournament championship each of the past two years. OWU falls to 1-1 on the year. This was the first time the two programs had faced off since the 2001 NCAA Division III Final Four, when the Battling Bishops defeated the Saints, 70-64.

    BOSTON, Mass. – The Emmanuel College Women's Basketball Team opened the 2013-14 season by hosting the 30th Annual EC Invitational. The Saints kicked off the campaign with a 65-52 win over Stevenson University. Emmanuel held a one point lead at the break, but outscored the Mustangs by twelve points in the second half to notch their first win of the season.

    BOSTON, Mass. – Emmanuel College Women’s Basketball Coach Andy Yosinoff captured his 700th career victory on Saturday afternoon, when he led the Saints to a 76-49 win over Lasell College. A supportive crowd of several hundred packed Emmanuel’s Jean Yawkey Center to cheer on the Saints, as the 36th-year head coach hit this incredible milestone. The 14-5 Saints remain unbeaten in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action at 6-0. The conference loss drops Lasell to 8-10 on the season and 3-4 in the league.

    BOSTON, Mass. – Bowdoin College's senior guard Kaitlin Donahoe (Amherst, N.Y.) drove baseline with 9 seconds remaining for the winning bucket in a 65-63 win over Emmanuel College on Monday night. The non-conference game played in Emmanuel's Jean Yawkey Center was the first game of the second semester for the host Saints, who dropped their third-straight contest with the loss. The Saints now stand at 8-4 on the season, while Bowdoin improved to 7-4 overall. Over the past ten years, Emmanuel has gone 3-9 against Bowdoin, with the Polar Bears victorious in the last three meetings with the Saints.

    The Emmanuel College Women's Basketball Team's incredible NCAA Tournament run ended on Saturday night with an 84-61 loss to defending national champion Amherst College. A crowd of 650 filled Amherst's LeFrak Gymnasium, as the top-ranked Lord Jeffs improved to a perfect 31-0 on the year, while the Saints ended their season at 25-7. Amherst will now advance to the NCAA Division III Final Four, making the program's fourth consecutive appearance in the national semifinals.

    The Emmanuel College Women's Basketball Team rolled to another incredible NCAA Tournament victory on Friday night, shocking King's College (Pa.) with a 67-56 win in the Sweet Sixteen played at Amherst College's LeFrak Gymnasium. Junior forward Fiona O'Dwyer (Stamford, Conn.) poured in a game-high 24 points, including the 1,000th of her collegiate career, to lead the Saints. Emmanuel will now take on defending national champion and host Amherst College in the NCAA Division III Elite Eight on Saturday night.
  • SAINTS TOP MONKS IN BATTLE OF UNBEATENS

    The Emmanuel Women's Basketball Team overcame a two-point halftime deficit to top Saint Joseph's College (Me.), 60-46, in a battle of unbeaten teams in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference. The game for first place in the GNAC standings took place in Emmanuel's Jean Yawkey Center on Tuesday night. Both the Saints and the Monks entered the contest with identical records, 17-6 overall and undefeated at 11-0 in GNAC play.
