LATROBE, Pa. – Saint Vincent College used a 17-0 run through the first 9:36 of the second half to cruise to a 70-33 win on their home court on Saturday night.

In their first year as a full member of the NCAA Division III, Saint Vincent College garnered a lot of respect with a pre-season no.25 national ranking according to D3hoops.com. The Lady Bearcats (4-0, 0-0 PAC) proved worthy of the national ranking; holding a Gators (3-2, 0-0 NCAC) team that came in averaging 76.0 points per game to nearly half that output for the entire game. The 33-point total is fewest points the Gators have scored in a game in almost three years when Oberlin College held them to 34 points on Jan. 14, 2008.

Allegheny stayed close through the early parts of the first half and led on several occasions before Saint Vincent began to pull away with a nine-minute, 21-7 run to close out the first half. Sophomore Heidi Goeller continued her strong early season play as the Gators presence in the post as she picked up 10-first half points before ending the game with a team-high 12 points.

Brittany Sedlock led all scorers with 16 off 47% shooting from the floor (7-15). Teammate Maria Baroffio followed behind Sedlock with 14 points of her own.

The Gators will look to bounce back quickly as they hit the hardwood on Monday, November 29th on the road against Pitt-Bradford. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
