July 26, 2017 Staten Island makes interim hire Staten Island turned to former player T.J. Tibbs as its interim head coach to fill the vacancy created by Tony Petosa's retirement. Tibbs was the interim head coach for Mount St. Vincent last season.
July 1, 2017 Petosa steps down at Staten Island Making a decision he described as "fifty percent personal and fifty percent basketball," Staten Island's Tony Petosa has resigned from his position as men's basketball coach. Petosa was the College's winningest coach in any sport with 459 wins.
