Nazareth extends Win Streak To 5 With 76-49 Victory Over Alfred

ROCHESTER, NY - The Nazareth women's basketball team extended its win streak to five on Friday night after a dominant 76-49 victory over Alfred. The sophomore trio of Kiara AnglinKatie MacLachlan, and Molly Benetti each contributed 13 points in the winning effort.
 
The Golden Flyers improve to 19-2 on the season, tying their 2022-23 win total, and are now 11-1 in conference play. The Golden Flyers have clinched an Empire 8 tournament berth. Alfred drops to 7-11 overall and 3-7 in conference.
 
After a back-and-forth battle in the first quarter, Nazareth led by eight despite having 5 turnovers.
 
A huge breakaway from Katie MacLachlan with 4:20 remaining in the second quarter sent the Golden Flyers on a 13-8 run to close out the half leading by 10, 36-26.
  
Holding Alfred to 13 points in the third quarter, Nazareth tacked on 22 and led by 19 heading into the fourth quarter.
 
Nazareth cruised in the fourth to finish with a 27-point win.
 
Anglin chipped in eight rebounds, two steals and two assists to go along with her 13 points. MacLachlan tacked on six assists, four rebounds and two steals.
 
Olivia Dobrovosky notched 12 points, four steals and a game-high eight assists. 
 
Sarina McDowell was 3-for-5 from the field for eight points and posted three rebounds. 
 
The Golden Flyers will be back in action Saturday afternoon for another Empire 8 game, hosting Elmira at 2 pm.
