Griffins Two Game Losing Stream Ends With Win Over Nittany Lions

Gwynedd Valley, Pa. - (11/21/2023) - Gwynedd Mercy University (4-2) got back into the win column after losing two straight games as they defeated Penn State Harrisburg (1-5) 67-54. Senior guard Lynzie Eggers (Washington Township, N.J.) finished the game with a game-high 25 points on 7-of-12 (58%). Eggers did not only provide scoring for the Griffins she also finished with seven rebounds, a game-high five assists, and a steal. 
 
Griffin Highlights: 

  • Gwynedd Mercy dominated the paint throughout the contest as the Griffins outrebounded the Nittany Lions 54-35 with 17 of those 54 rebounds being offensive for Gwynedd Mercy. With 17 offensive rebounds, the Griffins were able to capitalize on these opportunities with 15 second-chance points compared to the Nittany Lions' six second-chance points.
  • The leading rebounder in the Atlantic East Conference (AEC) senior forward Natalie O'Neill (Philadelphia, Pa.) continued to attack the glass all game long finishing with a game and season-high 17 rebounds along with six points, two assists, and two blocks. 
  • Graduate forward Sydney Kesselman (Philadelphia, Pa.) continued to prove to the AEC why she is the past week's AEC Defensive Player of the Week as Kesselman finished with a game-high four blocks and 11 rebounds.
