Rowan's Pearson Gets First Win as Profs Defeat Keene State, 67-54

NORTHAMPTON, MA -- Kate Herlihy's game-high 27 points helped give head coach Kate Pearson her first win as a Prof as Rowan defeated Keene State, 67-54, Sunday afternoon in the consolation game of the Tyler Tip-Off Tournament hosted by Smith.

The junior was 9-of-14 from the floor as she also connected on a personal-best four three-pointers while her seven rebounds tied a career high. Kristina Johnson added 15 points and Sabrina Araujo also hit for four three's, finishing for a career-best 13 points.

Araujo's triple late in the first quarter jumpstarted a 12-0 run to close out the stanza and give the Profs a 23-12 lead. The edge swelled to as large as 15 midway in the second before the Owls cut to six at the half (33-27).

The lead remained at six heading into the fourth, 44-38, before Keene State gave it one last push. After the Owls made it 46-41, Johnson hit a big three followed by another triple from Herlihy giving Rowan a double-digit lead the rest of the way in securing the first win on the year.

Brynn Rautiola led KSC with 17 points with teammate Valerie Luizzi netting 14.

Rowan returns to action on Saturday, November 18th when Eastern visits Esby Gym in a 1 p.m. tip.
