Carroll started the ballgame with a 3-0 lead, but NCC jumped out to a 12-5 lead over the next three minutes. Thompson, Rangel, and Natalie Palzkill helped dig into the lead, and Palzkill got the score to 12-15 going into the second quarter. The Cardinals began the quarter with a layup, but Katie Rohner knocked down a second-chance three-pointer to help spark the Carroll offense. Carroll regained a 20-19 lead with 6:56 left in the first half, and never looked back. Rangel's jumper began a 26-6 run to end the first half. Carroll took a 45-25 lead into the break after scoring 32 points on 68.4% shooting in the third quarter.

The Pios jumped back into gear in the second half, scoring in all but one offensive possession in the first five minutes. Katie Evans broke the 30-point barrier with a layup off a pass from Rohner in the 9th minute of the quarter. The Pios kept up the intensity, shooting 66.7% in the second half, and pulled away for good midway through the fourth quarter. Lauren Soyke scored 11 points in the second half on 5-6 shooting.
