WASHINGTON, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson women's basketball team remained unbeaten in Presidents' Athletic Conference play after using a fast start to take a 66-51 win over Saint Vincent College Saturday afternoon at the Salvitti Family Gymnasium.

The win is the six straight for W&J, who improves to 7-1 overall and 5-0 in the PAC. Saint Vincent falls to 4-3 overall and 3-2 in conference play.

W&J found a way early on to break their recent streak of starting off games slowly as they roared out to an early 17-8 lead after the first quarter of play. Meghan Dryburgh (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Baldwin) got the Presidents offense rolling with a turnaround jumper in the paint. Dryburgh would total six first quarter points as W&J built its lead to as many as 13 points in the opening 10 minutes.

Bryn Bezjak (Uniontown, Pa. / Albert Gallatin) tallied 11 points in the first half. Bezjak knocked down a jumper and added a triple to swell the lead to 29-10 at the 5:52 mark of the second. Skylar Bibbee (Fairfax, Va./Chantilly) drained a three-point field goal of her own as the lead pushed to 34-12 at the 3:34 mark. W&J took a decisive 37-17 lead into the halftime break.

The Presidents stout interior defense, which was headed by Victoria Koeck (Sidman, Pa. / Forest Hills) and Dryburgh, limited Saint Vincent to single-digit point totals in each of the first quarter.

Coming out of the first half, Bezjak and the Presidents offense continued their impressive day from the field as they maintained their double figure lead for the remainder of the game. Another major part of the Presidents attack was Adalynn Cherry (Altoona, Pa. / Altoona Area), who opened the third quarter scoring with a three-point field goal. Cherry continued her hot-shooting from the outside, as she made four-of-seven attempts from behind the three-point line. Cherry has drained 51.2 percent of her three-point attempts (21-41) this season.

Bezjak (15) and Cherry (15) led the team in scoring followed by Dryburgh with 10. Berardelli and Stellanie Loutsion (Canonsburg, Pa. / Canon-McMillan) both added six points apiece.

W&J held a 23-10 edge in points off turnovers and a 13-4 edge in second chance points. The Presidents added a 42-32 advantage in rebounding.
