WBB: Panthers fall to CMCC in exhibition contest

AUBURN, Maine The Plymouth State University women's basketball team was defeated by Central Maine Community College (CMCC), 58-45, in an exhibition game at Dave Gonyea Court on Tuesday evening.

The Mustangs provided a great opportunity for PSU to compete before having a week off for the Thanksgiving break. CMCC is defending USCAA Division II Small College national champions and undefeated to start its season. Despite the matchup having no effect on record or statistics for the Panthers, PSU used the game to stay sharp and spread out some minutes.

Freshman Sophie George (Meredith, N.H.) scored 16 points to lead the Panthers, while senior Jalen Cook (Monkton, Vt.) contributed nine points of her own. Freshman Raegan Peck (Dudley, Mass.) came off the bench to put in a good night with six points in the losing effort.

As the game is not considered a countable contest by NCAA standards, the statistics and result are not reflected in Plymouth State's season statistics.
