No. 2 Hope pulls away to beat Millikin

The Hope College women's basketball team is one win away from its first national semifinal appearance in 12 years.
 
The Flying Dutch pulled away in the second half for a 91-77 victory against Millikin University (Ill.) on Friday in the NCAA Division III Tournament in front of a DeVos Fieldhouse crowd of 2,710. 
 
No. 2-ranked Hope (29-1) advanced to the sectional final on Saturday, March 12, at 7 p.m. at DeVos Fieldhouse. The Flying Dutch will face No. 7 New York University, a 73-54 winner vs. No. 9 Scranton (Pa.) in Friday's first game.
 
Senior Kenedy Schoonveld scored a team-high 24 points for the Hope. The guard led five Flying Dutch in double figures.
 
Hope outscored Millikin, 48-38, during the second half.
