Baruch Falls to John Jay in Regular Season Finale, Next Host Lehman in Sunday Quarterfinal

The Baruch College Bearcats lost 72-57 to the Bloodhounds of John Jay College of Criminal Justice on Tuesday night in the regular season finale for both teams.

The Bearcats finish their regular season schedule in third place in the CUNYAC standings and will host Lehman College on Sunday, February 20, at 1:00 p.m in a CUNYAC quarterfinal. The CUNYAC will announce the entire championship schedule and match ups shortly.

The Bearcats broke open a tie at 28-28 with six straight points to jump ahead 34-28, but the Bloodhounds ended the second period scoring the last 10 points to own a 38-34 lead at the break.

They started the third period with the same momentum going on a game-busting 16-3 run to jump ahead further on the scoreboard 54-37.

The visiting Bearcats did not go away quietly and battled back but could only get as close as nine points (61-52) after a three by Paige Traynor.

The hosts Bloodhounds finished the win to split the season series.

Mia Castillo (nine rebounds) and Traynor (career-high) finished with 17 points each. 

Bobbi Green led the Bloodhounds with 13 points.
