No. 3 Hope roll past Alma

The third-ranked Hope College women's basketball team started fast and cruised to an 89-41 victory against Alma College on Monday at DeVos Fieldhouse.
 
The Flying Dutch jumped out to a 16-3 lead in the first six minutes and never looked back.
 
Hope (19-1, 11-1 MIAA) remained tied for the MIAA lead with Trine University.
 
Senior guard Kasey DeSmit (Hudsonville HS) led the Flying Dutch with 11 points, all in the first half. Senior guard Sydney Muller (Grand Rapids Christian) added 10 points.
 
Alma (11-10, 5-7 MIAA) was led by Malorie Rzepka's 10 points off the bench.
 
Hope's next game is Wednesday, Feb. 9, at 6 p.m. at Calvin University.
