RIVERDALE, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University women's basketball team suffered a Skyline Conference loss to Farmingdale State College, 69-47, at Peter Jay Sharp Center on Thursday evening. Junior Daniella Rothman scored six points, had just as many steals, snatched five boards, blocked four shots, and distributed a pair of assists.

The Maccabees got off to a slow start, falling behind 10-0. A pair of free throws from Bessler ended Yeshiva's scoring drought with 1:53 remaining in the opening period. A little while later, with the Macs trailing by 11, sophomore Shai Rahamim buried a triple and then Bessler converted a jumper to decrease Yeshiva's deficit to 26-20 with 42 seconds left in the opening half. Freshman Samantha Muller of the Rams countered with a layup to put her team back up by eight, 28-20, and that would be the score going into the intermission.

In the third stanza, first-year player Erin Conte buried a shot from beyond the arc to extend Farmingdale's benefit to 35-26 with 5:13 left to play. However, Yeshiva inched closer as back-to-back buckets by Nitzan and Bessler pulled the Maccabees to within five, at 35-30, with 4:04 left in the third quarter. Farmingdale was able to snatch momentum away from Yeshiva by outscoring the Blue and White, 13-2, during the final 3:17 of the period to take a commanding 48-32 hold into the final period of regulation time.
