Center Valley, PA (February 2, 2022) - Sophomore Mikaela Reese tossed in a career-high 33 points leading the DeSales University women's basketball team past Stevens, 80-63, in MAC Freedom action on Wednesday evening in Billera Hall.

• Records: DeSales (14-3, 12-0 MAC Freedom); Stevens (14-3, 9-2 MAC Freedom)
• It is DeSales' fifth straight win in the series and improves the Bulldogs to 7-2 all-time vs. the Ducks.
• The Bulldogs have now won 13 straight on the season and it is DSU's 22nd straight win at home, one shy of tying the school-record of 23 straight.
• DeSales now has a two-game lead for earning the top seed in the MAC Freedom postseason tournament over Stevens with four games to play.

How it Happened

• DSU jumped out early taking a 15-4 lead over the first seven minutes of the game before the Ducks scored 11 straight points to tie the game at 15.
• The Bulldogs led by two after one quarter and opened the second quarter with a 16-4 run to extend its advantage to 14 points (33-19) at the 4:25 mark led by seven points from junior Megan Bealer.
• The lead peaked at 18 points twice including at the half (43-25).
• DeSales torched the nets in the third quarter, shooting 70.6 percent, scoring 25 points to take a 28-point lead after three quarters and never looked back in the fourth quarter.

Top Bulldog Performers

• Reese' 33 points are a career-high and her 12 rebounds give her a double-double in six straight games.
• Senior Averi Jordan finished with 18 points and pulled down six boards.
• Bealer added 13 points and added six rebounds, six assists, and five steals.
• Junior Maria Newsome finished with a game-high tying six helpers.

For the Foes

• Jess Broad led the Ducks with 16 points and eight rebounds.
• Elissa Nsenkyrie added 11 points off the bench as the only other double digit scorer.
