ALFRED, N.Y. — The Keuka College Women's Basketball team lost at Alfred University 68-32 on Tuesday night in an Empire 8 Conference game.
Keuka College (1-16, 0-9 Empire 8) was led by Lauren Hill (Cobleskill, N.Y. / Cobleskill-Richmondville) and Meaghan McGwin (Rochester, N.Y. / Hilton) with 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Alfred University 68 vs. Keuka College 32
After Keuka College got an opening point on a free throw by Jenna LaMere (Scottsville, N.Y. / Wheatland-Chili), Alfred University scored 14 straight to build a lead over the Wolves. A layup by Meaghan McGwin snapped the run, but the hosts would lead 20-7 after the first.
The Wolves opened the second with a basket by Lauren Hill and a pair of free throws by McGwin to cut the margin to nine. Alfred responded with six straight to push their lead back to double-digits. The Saxons led 32-16 at the half.
Jenna LaMere opened the second half with a bucket for the Wolves. Alfred had a response yet again as the Saxons scored 14 unanswered to grow their lead. Lauren Hill ended the Keuka drought with a three with 1:15 left in the third. It was the final points of the frame as Alfred led 46-21 after three.
The Wolves had their best offensive quarter in the fourth as Keuka shot 38.5% from the floor and scored 11 points. The Saxon lead was too much, however, as Alfred University continued onto the 68-32 victory.

- Keuka is now 16-23 all-time against Alfred University. The Wolves have lost five straight to the Saxons
- Tuesday was the 39th meeting between the two schools, third-most in program history
- Amelia Poole (Bloomfield, N.Y. / Bloomfield) hit a three for the Wolves. The senior now ranks 10th for her career and seventh for the season in three-point attempts
